Job summary

An educational organization in Singapore is seeking freelance Academic Instructors to support primary school children from low-income families in their KidsExcel+ Program. As an instructor, you will conduct engaging Science sessions. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and a passion for teaching. Interested candidates must be committed for weekday afternoons throughout the academic year. Previous teaching experience is preferred, especially for those familiar with the Singapore Primary School Science syllabus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required.

• MUST have good communication and rapport-building skills.

Are you a passionate educator looking for flexible, meaningful work? Viva Kids is seeking freelance Academic Instructors to support primary school children from low-income families under our KidsExcel+ Program. Help us strengthen their science literacy skills through fun, engaging sessions.

👦👧 The Impact You'll Make

You will work directly with Primary 3 to 6 students under the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme and ComLink+ families. These children are often behind in core subjects and lack access to tuition. Your expertise will give them the confidence and academic boost they need to succeed.

We're looking for Candidates with:

• A passion for teaching and mentoring primary school-aged children.
• Strong proficiency in the Singapore Primary School Science syllabus.
• Innately patient, adaptable, and reliable in a teaching environment.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience. MOE-registered instructors will have a distinct advantage.

Able to commit to one weekday afternoon per week (2 pm - 9 pm), for 2026 academic year.

🎯 Your Role as an Instructor

As a KidsExcel+ Instructor, you will:

• Conduct academic sessions in Science.
• Effectively manage a class size of 8 to 20 students in the classroom.
• Deliver lessons in a fun, interactive, and encouraging way.
• Monitor and assess student progress.
• Adapt to different learning levels and pace of students; tailor your coaching method to meet the needs of various student’s competencies.
• Reinforce learning through revision, games, and practice exercises.
• Build positive relationships and motivate students to enjoy learning.

🔖 Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree and/or Post-graduate Diploma in Education.
2. Preferable Ex-MOE teachers in Science, experienced tutors with 3 years of experience in a classroom setting will be considered.
3. Preferable MOE Registered Instructors.
4. Familiar with the Singapore MOE syllabus.
5. Good classroom management, communication and rapport-building skills.
6. Have sound pedagogical and knowledge content.
7. Confident and fluent in written and spoken English.
