Job description
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the school’s strategic development, ensuring alignment with the EtonHouse philosophy and excellence in early years and primary education.

  • Ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment through effective curriculum leadership, staff coaching, and continuous school improvement processes.

  • Oversee curriculum implementation within programmes such as the IB PYP, IGCSE and International A Level, ensuring coherence, challenge, and inclusivity.

  • Lead the formulation, alignment, and approval of the school’s strategic direction, ensuring long- and short-term development plans reflect Group priorities, are clearly articulated, and are endorsed by the Board.

  • Implement, monitor, and continuously refine the school’s development plans, evaluating progress, identifying emerging needs, and adjusting strategies to ensure objectives are met effectively.

  • Provide regular updates on the school's performance to the CEO, Singapore.

  • Support the CEO, Singapore in any other responsibilities assigned.

Pedagogical and Curriculum Leadership
  • Lead curriculum design and alignment, working with the HQ Pedagogy team to ensure the school’s curriculum is high-quality, balanced, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with other EtonHouse schools to support smooth student transitions.

  • Ensure excellent teaching and learning, guiding staff to implement the curriculum framework effectively, maintaining high pedagogical standards, and monitoring, reviewing, and supporting the quality of teaching across the school.

  • Oversee assessment and reporting, coaching teachers to monitor, assess, document, and evaluate students’ learning and development; ensuring assessments are authentic, well-documented, confidentially stored, and communicated to parents where required.

  • Maintain programme and resource quality, ensuring alignment with IB PYP Standards and Practices for ongoing accreditation, securing adequate teaching materials and resources and supporting programme development.

Student Learning and Experience
  • Monitor and analyse student achievement, progress, and wellbeing, using data to inform decisions and interventions.

  • Promote a holistic educational experience, including co-curricular activities, community initiatives, and opportunities that develop character, confidence, and global citizenship.

  • Celebrate student success and ensure a positive, engaging, and enriching school environment.

  • Foster a caring, connected, and respectful school community where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.

  • Oversee the admissions process, ensuring new students meet requirements, all records and documents are complete, and child–staff ratios are maintained.

  • Manage student placement, allocating students to classes based on age, friendships, prior placements, and learning and developmental needs.

School Culture – Staffing, Wellbeing and Community
  • Lead, inspire, and develop the whole school team, creating a positive, collaborative, and high-energy working environment while mentoring staff to reach their full potential.

  • Strengthen teaching quality through coaching, conducting classroom observations, providing timely feedback, and supporting continuous improvement in instructional practice.

  • Drive performance and professional growth, setting clear goals, evaluating progress, and planning targeted professional development based on identified team needs.

  • Oversee staffing and HR processes, working with the HR Business Partner on workforce planning, leading recruitment and onboarding, and managing staff scheduling, relief cover, and resourcing for new programmes or classes.

  • Lead and oversee robust safeguarding, wellbeing, and pastoral systems.

  • Strengthen relationships with families and the wider community through open communication, meaningful engagement, and a visible, approachable presence.

  • Lead, support, and develop the School's leadership team and teaching staff, promoting a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and professional learning.

  • Oversee staff recruitment, onboarding, and performance management to ensure a strong and stable workforce.

  • Drive effective professional development that enhances instructional quality and supports staff growth.

  • Lead all child safeguarding efforts, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students by developing and reviewing safeguarding policies, promoting staff awareness, and ensuring consistent implementation and adherence across the school.

  • Build and sustain strong parent partnerships, ensuring timely, effective communication about student progress and fostering a professional, positive relationship between parents and all teaching and non‑teaching staff.

School Management - Operations, Compliance, and Administration
  • Oversee and optimise daily school operations, ensuring smooth, efficient functioning supported by clear, regularly reviewed SOPs that remain aligned with Group standards.

  • Maintain and maximise the school’s physical environment and resources, ensuring facilities are well‑kept, well‑resourced, and effectively utilised to support high‑quality learning and a positive working environment.

  • Ensure smooth, efficient daily operations in partnership with the administration and support teams.

  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and health and safety requirements.

  • Work with the Head Office on resource planning, budgeting, enrolment strategy, and campus development.

Marketing, Enrolment and Financial Management
  • Drive enrolment growth and brand visibility, developing strategies to maximise school capacity, collaborating with the marketing team, and leading events and initiatives that promote the school and Group.

  • Strengthen relationships with current and prospective families, guiding the parent liaison team and engaging directly with prospective parents through conversations, tours, and explanations of the school’s curriculum and ethos.

  • Collaborate with the Parent Liaison Team, ensuring accurate enrolment reports are submitted.

  • Oversee financial planning and budgeting, setting the annual school budget, reviewing it regularly, ensure timely fee collection, and adherence to the approved budget and ensuring adequate resources are allocated for effective school operations.
