School Nurse
Location: Central
An established international school in Singapore is seeking a qualified and caring School Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality medical care and first aid to students and staff, promote health awareness, and ensure the overall well-being of our school community.
Key Responsibilities
Health & First Aid
- Provide prompt first aid and emergency care to students and staff during school hours.
- Attend to injuries, illnesses, and other medical needs on campus.
- Support the management of communicable diseases (e.g. Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, COVID-19) following MOH and school guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student health issues or treatment provided.
- Conduct regular checks and replenishment of all first aid kits across the school.
- Maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the school sick bay.
- Supervise and monitor students’ well‑being during recess and lunch periods.
Health Records & Administration
- Maintain and update the Student Health and Allergies Register accurately and confidentially.
- Inform teachers and relevant staff of any important medical information or allergy updates.
- Ensure proper documentation of all medical incidents and accident reports.
- Contact parents promptly in the event of injury or illness and accompany students to the clinic or hospital when required.
Student & School Support
- Support students during school activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Provide assistance during lunch times and school events when necessary.
- Assist at the school reception and handle general enquiries when required.
- Carry out administrative and other duties as assigned by school management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing (recognized by the Singapore Nursing Board).
- Valid registration with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and AED certification.
- At least 2 years of relevant nursing experience; prior experience in a school, pediatric, or community setting is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and patient personality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multicultural school environment.
