Job summary

A local educational services provider in Singapore seeks a Science Lab Assistant to prepare experiments, handle science equipment, and assist in maintaining the Science Garden. Ideal candidates should have at least 3 years of experience and knowledge of the primary science curriculum. This is a full-time role with working hours from Monday to Friday. The contract period runs from January 2026 to December 2026, with an option for extension.

Qualifications

Job Scope

Preparation of experiments

• To prepare apparatus and materials for experiments.
• To assist teachers in the carrying out of experiments.

Handle Science equipment

• To be able to use equipment (e.g., microscope, dataloggers and equivalent) related to science experiments and programmes.

Administrative work

• To assist in any administrative work assigned.
• Maintaining the Science labs
• To maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of science labs.
• To adhere to the safety rules and regulations.

Knowledge in handling and maintaining the Science Garden and Urban Farm

• To assist in the growing of plants (e.g., watering, mixing of nutrients, harvesting etc.) and monitoring their growth.
• To monitor the running of hydroponics and soil compost systems and carry out basic maintenance.

Requirements

• GCE ‘O’ Level (at least 3 passes in English, Maths & Science) or equivalent qualifications
• Knowledge of Primary Science curriculum
• Knowledge of Science Lab Safety rules
• At least 3 years of experience within the last 3 years as Science Lab Assistant in schools
• Knowledge in handling and maintaining the Science Garden and Urban Farm

Working Hours

Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1 hour lunch break

(Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays)

Contract Period

From 01 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026 (Option to extend to 31 Dec 2027)
