1. Scaffolding Work Planning & Coordination
- Review project work packs and identify scaffolding requirements for all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, painting, inspection).
- Prepare scaffolding plans and layout drawings in coordination with construction supervisors and safety teams.
- Plan material requirements (tubes, fittings, boards, tags) and coordinate with Preservation & Logistics Manager for timely delivery.
- Prioritize scaffolding jobs to align with the construction schedule and shutdown/critical path activities.
2. Supervision of Scaffold Erection, Modification, and Dismantling
- Direct and monitor scaffolders during erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffold structures, ensuring compliance with design and load specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE for scaffold inspections before handover for use.
- Ensure scaffold tags (green/yellow/red) are updated and visible at all times.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with project HSE procedures, statutory regulations, and international standards (e.g., BS EN 12811, OSHA 1926).
- Conduct scaffold safety toolbox talks and participate in daily coordination meetings.
- Ensure scaffolds are erected and maintained with adequate access, guardrails, toe boards, and fall arrest measures.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain an updated scaffold register with details of location, type, height, inspection dates, and responsible scaffolders.
- Prepare daily and weekly scaffolding progress reports for submission to Site Manager and Project Control Manager.
- Track scaffolding material usage and return to avoid losses.
5. Interface Management
- Liaise with multiple workfront supervisors to ensure scaffolding availability matches upcoming tasks.
- Coordinate with subcontractors or vendors involved in scaffolding supply or labour.
