Job description
Who we are:

La Pure (New Gen Studio) is a GST-registered hair and beauty brand in Singapore. We are not just a salon; we are building a brand. We have a strong technical team of stylists, and now we are looking for a Manager to handle the business side of things so our stylists can focus on their craft.

The Reality of this Role (What you will actually do):

  • Managing the Stylist Team: Our core team of professional hair stylists are mostly from Malaysia and China. They speak Mandarin only. You need to be the one managing them daily—this includes arranging their rosters, explaining company policies, handling their leave/welfare, and resolving any friction between the team. If you can’t communicate with them in native Mandarin, you can’t do this job.

  • Customer Service & Front of House: You will handle complex customer inquiries or complaints that the stylists cannot handle due to language barriers. You represent the brand image.

  • New Project: Japan E-Commerce: We are trying to expand our brand products into the Japan market via e-commerce. You will be in charge of this project. You need to research Japanese platforms (like Rakuten/Amazon JP), figure out the logistics, and coordinate with translators or partners. We don't need you to be a translator, but you need to have the business sense to make this happen.

Who we are looking for:

  • Language:
    • Mandarin (Native/Fluent): This is a MUST. As mentioned, 80% of our staff do not speak English. You need to communicate with them effectively every single day.
    • English: Professional level to handle admin, government regulations, and English-speaking clients.
    • Japanese (Bonus): If you know some Japanese or have an interest in the Japanese market, that helps a lot with our e-commerce project.

  • Personality:
    • You must be “people-oriented.” Salon operations are all about people.
    • We welcome fresh graduates who have studied Business Management or HR. We don't need 10 years of experience; we need someone with the right attitude who can learn fast and isn't afraid of hard work.

  • Availability:
    • Must be willing to work retail hours (including weekends/Public Holidays) when the shop is busiest.
