Job summary

A marine solutions company is looking for a Sales Specialist in Singapore to support customers and sell spare parts and retrofit solutions for their systems. This role requires a technical or commercial degree and at least 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the maritime sector. The candidate must possess strong communication skills, a proactive sales approach, and be willing to travel within the APAC region. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

Proactive, consistent support for existing customers in the APAC region, with a focus on Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia

  • Sales of spare parts, retrofit solutions and on-board services for existing Hoppe Marine systems
  • Further development and expansion of the existing after-sales market and identification of new service and retrofit potential
  • Direct reporting to the Managing Director in Singapore and close operational cooperation with the local Hoppe team at the Singapore location
  • Close collaboration with the headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, particularly in the areas of quotation arrangement and follow up, coordination of activities and market development
  • Function as a central point of contact for external customers, maritime organizations, interest groups and other relevant stakeholders in the region
  • Internal interface function with the local Hoppe organization in Singapore and with the technical departments at headquarters, in particular the Spare Parts Department and other technical departments
  • Monitoring, analysis and evaluation of market and competitive activities in the APAC region, with a particular focus on Singapore
  • Representation of Hoppe Marine to customers, partners and market participants
Profile
  • Technical or commercial degree or comparable qualification
  • Minumum 5 years of professional experience in technical sales or after-sales service, preferably in the maritime sector
  • Strong technical understanding and keen interest in new technical systems and solutions
  • Willingness and capability to acquire in-depth knowledge of the most important Hoppe Marine systems as part of an intensive training program
  • Ability to explain the key functions and advantages of Hoppe systems to customers in a clear and understandable manner and to communicate actively with purchasing and technical departments on the customer side
  • Very good customer and service orientation with a proactive, structured sales approach
  • Intercultural competence and a confident and professional manner in an international environment
  • Very good written and spoken English; other language skills are an advantage
  • High level of personal responsibility, willingness to travel within the APAC region and strong communication skills
