Job summary

A leading chemical company in Singapore is seeking a Sales Executive to drive sales growth and ensure compliance with import and export regulations. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in Sales and Marketing, particularly in the chemical or polymer industry, with strong interpersonal and analytical skills. You will develop strategic business plans, maintain customer relationships, and present sales reports to management. Frequent travel is expected for business development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales and Marketing, preferably in the Chemical or Polymer related industry.
  • Good understanding of import and export regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Direct reporting and regular updates to Managing Director
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products, policies & procedures and business ethics
  • Ensure full and ongoing compliance with all relevant import & export regulations, requirements and standards
  • Ability to analyse markets and able to get hold and understand the business overview, competitors and target markets
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to drive sales growth
  • Prepare and present expenses, sales reports and sales forecasts to Management and HQ (located in Japan) Sales Divisions
  • Attend monthly sales meeting with Sales Teams and Technical Department, including meetings with HQ and subsidiaries when required
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments and oversees subsidiaries to support overall business operations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, potential clients and business partners, with a strong focus on understanding their needs
  • Conduct sales presentations and occasionally provide technical follow-ups with Technical / R&D teams
  • Handle customer enquiries, follow-ups and propose solutions to support business development
  • Travel for business trips to meet customers (generally to ASEAN and India) and conduct plant visits
  • Attend Global Sales Meeting and Sales Training sessions (typically once or twice a year in Japan or USA)
  • Participate in exhibitions, trade shows and promotional activities when required
  • Achieve yearly sales targets
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales and Marketing, preferably in the Chemical or Polymer related industry
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of import and export regulations and standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Willing and able to travel frequently and work independently.
