Job summary

A leading trading company in Singapore is seeking a Sales Manager with 10 years of experience in international trade. The role involves achieving sales targets, establishing sales objectives, and maintaining customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the steel industry and be able to communicate effectively with factories and customers. This position may require business trips across Southeast Asia and beyond.

Sales Manager
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an effective action plan to achieve sales targets set by the Director. Ensure the achievement of both divisional and personal targets, in alignment with the company’s sales policies and strategies.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for various regions and territories.
  • Project expected sales volumes and profits for both current and new products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Proactively search for potential customers through various channels.
  • Verify new and potential customer identity and thoroughly understand their needs.
  • Attend customer inquiries and provide prompt and accurate responses.
  • Obtain firm bids from customers and prepare comprehensive proposals.
  • Communicate with suppliers to negotiate sales terms, pricing, and other relevant terms to maximise profit.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments, such as Chartering, Operations, Finance, Legal to facilitate the completion of deals; ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed throughout every step of the sales contract process and remain vigilant in dealing with any potential disputes that may arise.
  • Remain updated about industry trends, market conditions, and the activities of competitors in order to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities.
  • Travel for business within short notices.
Job Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in international trade with specific achievements.
  • Graduates / postgraduates of Business Administration, Banking, International Trade.
  • Have strong knowledge about steel industry of not only Vietnam market but other regions in Asia, and relevant issues of international trade such as international payment, sea / air transportation, international trade law.
  • Be familiar with the requirements for product quality from customers in Asia and can well-cooperate and communicate with the factories to meet these requirements.
  • Having experiences in selling steel products / steel making raw materials/ Cement products and materials is an advantage.
  • Independent, confident and knowledge-sharing spirit.
  • Good leading skills, persuasive skills and can work under pressure.
  • Active in doing market research and have “can-do” attitude.
  • Good written and spoken English and Vietnamese, computer literacy.
  • Be active and ready to go on business trip (in South East Asia, China, Middle Asia, Australia and other countries) if required.
