To drive sales of construction materials (primarily Interior Renovation Materials) by building and maintaining relationships with commercial clients, understanding their project needs, and providing product solutions that meet their technical, budgetary, and timeline requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and target potential new clients, including general contractors, subcontractors, home builders, architects, engineers, and government agencies.
  • Account Management: Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of existing accounts, nurturing relationships to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.
  • Needs Analysis: Consult with clients to deeply understand the scope, specifications, and budget of their construction projects.
  • Solution Selling: Recommend the most suitable materials and products based on client needs, building codes, and environmental conditions.
  • Price & Contract Negotiation: Prepare and negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms. This often involves competitive bidding for large projects.
  • Closing Sales: Secure purchase orders and achieve or exceed individual and team sales targets.
Technical Expertise & Quoting
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain expert-level knowledge of the company's product lines, including technical specifications, appropriate applications, advantages over competitors, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Quote & Proposal Generation: Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely quotes and proposals for materials.
  • Bid Management: Manage the entire bid process for large projects, from reviewing bid documents to submitting a complete and competitive bid package before the deadline.
Customer Service & Problem Resolution
  • Omni-Channel Communication: Respond promptly to client inquiries via phone, email, and professional messaging platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams).
  • Order Management: Oversee the order from placement to delivery, coordinating closely with internal logistics and warehouse teams.
  • After-Sales Support: Take full ownership of any post-sale issues, such as:
    • Delivery Problems: Coordinating solutions for late or incorrect deliveries.
    • Product Issues: Investigating and resolving claims of material defects or performance issues. This involves working with technical support and manufacturers to authorize returns, replacements, or credit notes.
    • On-Site Support: Occasionally visiting job sites to address client concerns, inspect material applications, or troubleshoot problems firsthand.
  • Internal Coordination: Work seamlessly with internal teams including purchasing, logistics, scheduling, and the warehouse to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.
  • Supplier Relations: Build relationships with manufacturers and suppliers to stay updated on new products, pricing changes, and lead times.
Market & Administrative Tasks
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market trends.
  • CRM Management: Diligently use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track all client interactions, sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline status.
  • Reporting: Provide regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and market feedback to sales management.
  • Technical Aptitude: The ability to quickly understand and communicate complex product information and building science.
  • Strong Relationship-Building Skills: Focus on long-term partnerships rather than one-off transactions.
  • Excellent Communication & Negotiation: Must be persuasive, clear, and professional, especially when dealing with project managers and seasoned contractors.
  • Problem-Solving & Resilience: Construction projects are dynamic; the ability to think on your feet and solve logistical or technical problems is critical.
  • Self-Motivation & Discipline: Often a field-based role requiring strong time management and the initiative to generate new business.
  • Detail-Oriented: Accuracy in quoting and order processing is paramount to avoid costly errors on large projects.
