About the role
Corney and Barrow Limited, an established wine merchant, is seeking a passionate, motivated, creative and driven Sales Executive to join its team in the Singapore office. Working with corporate, private and on‑trade clients, driving sales and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Job Overview
- Proactively prospecting and generating new leads through networking, cold‑calling and email outreach
- Managing and growing an existing portfolio of corporate and private clients
- Providing product expertise and personalised wine recommendations to clients. Understand and know your customers well, in order to present new opportunities to increase and diversify their purchases
- Processing orders for local stock and ensuring timely delivery and follow‑up
- Participating in wine tastings and events to promote the company's portfolio
- Collaborating with the marketing team to develop sales strategies and campaigns
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting on sales activities and performance
- Ongoing creation of sales offers to generate sales
- Continuously identify, evaluate and pursue all new sales opportunities through regular market visits and customer calls
- Prepare detailed proposals for corporate events
- Work on proposals for on‑trade client tenders
- Stay on top of cash collections by working closely with the Credit Control Team
- Work with the Logistics team to implement company processes for wine delivery and have an awareness of inventory management and stock levels
Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a sales or customer‑facing role, preferably within the wine or hospitality industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients
- Excellent product knowledge and the ability to educate and advise clients on wine selections
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding customer expectations
- Ability to track sales performance, analyse data and report on results
- Ability to develop sales strategies and push the boundaries of creative sales ideas
- Understand internal policies relating to compliance within your sales process with customers
- Familiarity with wine tasting and the ability to describe and promote wine characteristics
- Proficient in using CRM software and other sales‑related tools
- A passion for the wine industry and a desire to continuously expand your knowledge
