WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in driving business growth by actively pursuing new leads, meeting with customers, reviewing project specifications, and providing tailored solutions. This role requires travel to key markets, mainly in Malaysia and Indonesia, along with strong negotiation, sales presentations, and customer relationship management skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Canvassing for New Leads and Opportunities:
Actively identify and pursue new sales leads and opportunities in targeted markets.
- Customer Meetings and Travelling:
Travel overseas (primarily to Malaysia and Indonesia) to meet with clients, understand their needs, and build relationships.
- Reviewing Project Specifications:
Analyse customer specifications and ensure alignment with the company’s product offerings.
- Preparing Quotations:
Prepare and submit detailed, competitive quotations based on customer needs and specifications.
- Negotiation:
Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and closing deals.
- Sales Presentations:
Deliver compelling presentations to potential clients, demonstrating how our equipment meets their requirements.
- Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring long-term business opportunities.
- Product and Market Expertise:
Stay updated on industry trends, product innovations, and competitor activities to provide clients with informed solutions.
- Sales Reporting and Forecasting:
Regularly report on sales activities, forecasts, and market insights to management.
- Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, proposals, and contracts in the CRM system.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience proven experience in sales engineering or a similar technical sales role with a focus on equipment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to review technical specifications and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Willingness to travel to key markets (Malaysia, Indonesia).
- Knowledge of the industry and latest equipment technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) AutoCAD and 3D softwares, where applicable.
- Ability to work independently while being a team player.
