A leading supplier of industrial products in Singapore is seeking a Sales Executive to drive business development in steel pipes. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of sales experience in industrial products, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and a strong technical understanding of steel pipes. This role involves developing sales strategies, maintaining customer relationships, and providing technical advice, with the possibility of travel for business.
Sales & Business Development
· Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve assigned targets for steel pipes (eg. seamless, welded API 5L, ASTM grades).
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities in targeted sectors such as oil & gas, construction, shipbuilding, water infrastructure, and manufacturing.
· Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations to prospective clients.
Customer Relationship Management
· Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, distributors, and project contractors.
· Provide prompt responses to inquiries, quotations and order confirmations.
· Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Technical & Product Knowledge
· Understand steel pipe specifications, grades, dimensions, standards (API, ASTM, EN, ISO) and coating/lining options.
· Advise clients on product suitability, technical requirements, and compliance with project specifications.
· Work closely with manufacturers to prepare accurate bids and proposals.
Market & Competitor Analysis
· Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
· Identify gaps in the market and propose new sales initiatives.
Order Management & Coordination
· Coordinate with production, logistics and quality team to ensure timely delivery of orders.
· Monitor project schedules and resolve issues that may impact delivery or customer satisfaction.
