Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to oversee safety operations, implement HSE systems, and conduct training. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field, with over 5 years of industry experience. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this role.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting Management in the HSE Policy and Guidelines, HSE Management System
  • Responsible for the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSE Systems in alignment with the Corporate HSE guidelines.
  • Responsible for the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures in line with industry norms and legislation.
  • Responsible for the overall management of company resources in the effective and efficient running of safety operations at the workplace.
  • Responsible for supporting the Contracts, Engineering, Human Resources and Operations Departments in the areas of HSE aspects.
  • Responsible for carrying out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends/ gaps/risks etc and formulating/communicating on improvements.
  • Responsible for carrying out in-house safety trainings/workshops.
  • Responsible as a key point of contact and liaison with Clients, authorities and other stakeholders on safety related issues.
  • Responsible for preparation of Health and Safety documentation for new tenders and preparation of plans for the projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Diploma in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in Health, Safety & Environment
  • Registered Officer with the Ministry of Manpower (Specialist Diploma in HSE).
  • Work experience of 5 years or more in Health, Safety and Environment in the relevant process plant/ construction /petro-chemical fields).
  • Preferably good knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation by using the right tools/methods, HSE Auditing Techniques and other safety related aspects.
  • Dedicated team-player with strong leadership qualities; excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication and supervisory skills
