Qualifications

  • MOM Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) certification required.
  • Certified Fire Safety Manager from SCDF needed.
  • At least 1 year of experience in engineering, workshop, or manufacturing environment.

Job description

SWTS Pte Ltd is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Safety Officer who is also a certified Fire Safety Manager to oversee workplace safety standards across our workshops and project sites. You will work with operations, supervisors and management to drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WSH and SCDF requirements.

Job Scope
  • Maintain compliance with WSH Act, SDF Fire Code and client requirements
  • Prepare, review and update Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP)
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections, hazard identification and audits
  • Lead incident & near‑miss investigations using appropriate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and track CAPA
  • Oversee permit‑to‑work (PTW) processes and workshop safety activities
  • Manage all fire safety matters for the premises and act as the Fire Safety Manager (FSM) for one of the workshops
  • Conduct fire drills, maintain ERP and coordinate SCDF submissions and audits
  • Ensure emergency equipment, extinguishers and fire systems are inspected regularly
  • Ensure the maintenance of Overhead Cranes and maintain lifting equipment & Lifting Appliances (LA) register
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings and targeted safety trainings
  • Develop Safety Programmes such as Hearing Conservation, Supervisor Empowerment, Safety Calendars etc. for workshop and office staff
  • Develop posters, safety messages and monthly safety themes
  • Coordinate safety requirements during client shutdowns (SDM) and Turnarounds (TA).
  • Prepare monthly safety performance reports and KPI tracking
  • Support ISO 45001 audits and documentation updates
  • Act as Secretary for Safety Committee meetings (minutes, agenda, follow‑ups)
Required Qualifications
  • MOM Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO)
  • SCDF certified Fire Safety Manager (FSM)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in engineering/workshop/O&G/manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of local safety legislation, hazard identification, and risk control measures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)
  • Exposure to ExxonMobil TA/Shutdown project safety
  • ISO 45001 auditor experience
