Job summary

A leading renewable energy company in Singapore is seeking a Safety Manager for its refinery team. You will implement safety strategies, guide safety measures across operations, and manage a dedicated team to enhance site safety performance. The ideal candidate has over 15 years of experience in process safety, strong leadership skills, and a master's degree in process safety management. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on environmental sustainability efforts.

We are looking for you, Safety Manager to our Neste Singapore Refinery team in Tuas South.

Your purpose is to lead and develop deep functional Safety expertise, processes and outcomes enabling Neste Singapore high safety performance. Safety manager role is an important part of the refinery management and together with your team you create the cornerstone for site safety. The position requires close collaboration with other refinery departments, global safety organizations and external stakeholders including the authorities.

Your role in our team in creating a sustainable future

Job Responsibilities
  • Implement Neste’s safety strategy, guide and enable safety in Neste’s Singapore major hazard installations across three refining areas with 400 employee and contractors
  • Perform the Safety manager role in Singapore refinery site as well as providing guidance and advice to the commercial office in Suntec City and Innovation Center in Science Park
  • Develop the organization and provide expertise in areas of responsibility and prioritize development areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement and learning through incident investigation and risk identification
  • Lead a highly professional, capable and motivated safety team as well as manage people related issues in the safety department including acquisition of resources and developing talent pipeline
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of contemporary safety practices in support of Neste’s Safety Strategy development
  • Represent Safety in Singapore refinery site and report to the refinery's Site Director and act as a key member of the refinery Site Leadership Team to steer strategic direction and perform hands‑on leadership
Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in safety for major hazard installations, process safety compliance, risk management, incident investigations and shaping safety leadership, behavioural safety and operational discipline in a process technical organisations
  • 15+ years proven track record of in relevant process industry setting, including process and project safety experience
  • Proven ability to development organisations, adapting organisational and cultural needs to concrete actions
  • Co‑operation and influencing skills to shape safety strategy, influence stakeholders and build safety and learning culture to enable successful works with multiple stakeholders in a complex matrix organisation
  • Master degree in process safety management is highly valued
