A leading engineering firm in Singapore seeks an EHS leader to direct the EHS function and ensure compliance with regulations. You will manage a team, implement EHS strategies, and drive continuous improvements in safety and environmental practices. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, strong communication and leadership skills, and familiarity with local regulations. Qualifications

Job description

Provides leadership and direction through EHS engineers, managers. Is accountable for the performance and results of Applied Materials Southeast Asia region. Executes EHS functional business plans and contributes to the development of EHS functional strategy. Decisions are guided by EHS functional strategy and priorities. Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area.

Key Responsibilities

Manages and directs the activities of the EHS function and staff. Coach, mentor and supervise EHS team to implement the EHS management systems to minimize the risks to employees, customers and the environment. Develop EHS strategies and lead team members to develop action plans for continually improving performance and customer satisfaction. Leads in defining, developing and sustaining the EHS strategy and roadmap and supporting business processes for a Region or major business segment.

Set up and maintenance of the EHS system to drive continuous improvements. Supervises direct reports in their assigned activities with specific responsibility for staffing, technical leadership within the group, staff professional/managerial/ leadership skills and career development, budget management. Ensures that work is assigned appropriately and that results are obtained and evaluated.

Maintain communication channel with site/location functions. Ensures that specific projects assigned are completed as planned to meet customer goals. Provides management with updates and escalation on projects/programs.

Ensures proper investigations of accident / incidents conducted for EHS events and drives corrective actions. Ensures development and implementation of EHS programs and continuous improvements to reduce EHS risks and incidents. Ensures development and implementation EHS training programs

Track and trend local EHS legislation and take appropriate action to comply with requirements. Communicates EHS issues to all necessary management and employees. Generates necessary reports and documentation. Ensures customer satisfaction via support of factory of field operations and prompt resolution of critical issues and problems as well as strong communication within Applied Materials.

Review and report EHS progress and performance for assigned site/function. Develops, monitors and controls the budget for EHS operations. Remains knowledgeable of progress made in EHS technology. Ensures that applicable advances in technology are incorporated within Applied Materials.

Ensures compliance with required codes, standards and regulations. Interfaces with internal and external customers regarding EHS issues. Act as a liaison with local, regional or federal regulatory authorities.

Provide technical guidance on environmental, safety and health issues to the business unit and contribute to the development of company-wide EHS standards and procedures. Oversees accident / incident investigations and analyzes pertinent data. Documents results. Oversees Workers Compensation program. Executes and recommends modifications to corporate policy

Education and Job Requirements

Bachelor degree in any technical or engineering discipline with about 5 to 7 years of experience in the manufacturing environment, preferably in the semiconductor.

Has knowledge working in a cleanroom environment and familiar with local regulations requirements and Codes of Practice.

Strategic and systems thinking; complex change management. Experience in a complex global company in a fast‑paced environment preferred

Demonstrate well‑developed interpersonal skills, communication skills, and diplomacy, to successfully manage up and down the organization, with individuals at all levels

Effectively engage with leaders across the organization (including senior leader/ stakeholders). Effect outcomes through impactful influence.
