A staffing agency in Singapore is seeking a Safety Coordinator to implement and monitor safety protocols in a pharmaceutical environment. This role involves conducting safety inspections, training employees, and ensuring compliance with regulations such as ISO 45001. Candidates should have a background in safety and health, particularly in pharmaceutical or chemical settings.
Supporting the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Manager by implementing and monitoring safety protocols, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Key responsibilities include conducting safety training, risk assessments, and emergency drills, maintaining safety documentation, and promoting a strong safety culture to prevent incidents.
Support and compliance: Work with the WSH Manager to ensure site safety and regulatory compliance, implementing and maintaining WSH programs and systems.
Inspections and audits: Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and checks to identify unsafe conditions and practices, and monitor the effectiveness of improvement actions.
Training and communication: Develop and deliver safety inductions, orientations, and training sessions to employees. Arrange and conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
Risk assessment and procedures: Assist in managing risk assessments, method statements, and safe work procedures.
Incident management: Respond to incidents, assist in their investigation, and contribute to reports proposing corrective actions. Also, conduct emergency response drills.
Documentation: Manage and maintain all safety-related records, permits, and documentation in compliance with standards like ISO 45001.
Promote safety culture: Organize activities and promotional programs to foster a strong safety culture within the organization.
Regulatory liaison: Liaise with authority officers and handle inspections and other activities related to regulatory bodies.
A background in a relevant field, with experience in safety and health in a pharmaceutical or chemical environment is often required.
Knowledge of WSH regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 45001) is essential.
