Job Summary
As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well‑being of employees, visitors and contractors at the workplace. You will assist in development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and programs to create a safe working environment. Your role will involve conducting inspections, providing safety training, investigating incidents and promoting a safety culture within the organization.
Job Description
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and programs to comply with local regulations and company standards
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards, evaluate risks and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Provide safety trainings to employees, contractors and visitors on topics such as hazard identification, emergency procedures and safe work practices
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence
- Maintain safety records, including incident reports, training documentation and safety inspection findings
- Collaborate with various department heads and supervisors to identify and address safety concerns in the workplace
- Conduct safety audits to assess compliance with safety regulations and standards and make recommendations for improvement
- Stay updated with new safety regulations, industry best practices and emerging trends to ensure organization’s safety standards are up to date
- Participate in onsite projects, Shutdowns & Turnarounds with the core work group and provide safety support throughout the event
- Attend periodic meetings and discussions organized by the clients to be updated on the latest safety requirements in the respective plants
Qualification and Skills
- Completed the WSQ Advanced Certificate (Level B) in Workplace Safety & Health
- BizSAFE Level 2 WSQ Develop a Risk Management Implementation Plan
- Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification is preferred
- Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Safety Coordinator or a similar role, preferably in Singapore
- Knowledge of local safety regulations, standards and best practices
- Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and control measures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver safety trainings and promote a safety‑conscious culture
- Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage requests from clients and internal stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
