Responsibilities
- The individual shall report to the Site Manager for the MPS BPA2 SDM 2018 project.
- You are to be involved in scheduled EHS activities. You will take the appropriate action to discourage employees from taking risks.
- Counsel and appropriately educate those who fail to consider the well‑being of themselves and that of others around them.
- Develop the project EHS processes and deliver to the Project and Construction Manager.
- Guide the development of the site project orientation and coordinate the EHS Training program for all personnel coming to site. Participate in the EHS audit and inspection schemes being applied. Establish and maintain effective communications and coordination between Owner and FSME. Audit and monitor all FSME EHS Program, advise the Construction Manager and field supervisors of any shortfalls and provide specialist support.
- Participate in scheduled inspections of all work areas to ensure compliance on the part of FSME with regard to safe working practices and application of EHS program and ensure field personnel are monitoring their EHS performance.
- Review all incident investigation and Near Miss reports to ensure that the appropriate corrective actions are generated, and ensure that the project maintains records and documentation as per the statutory requirements.
- Monitor EHS status and periodically reports to the PM and SM on performance. Produce project EHS statistics and reports where applicable.
- Communicate Incident reports and lessons learnt to project personnel. Provide advice to FSME in the development of risk assessment. Advise supervisory staff and employees in the implementation of strategies to identify and control potential hazards.
- Provide assistance to site supervisors with Incident investigation and initiate analysis to discover accident trends and corrective actions.
- Attend SDM Pre‑start and Toolbox Meetings. Conduct safety inspections and assessments. Assist supervisors to resolve hazard issues. Attend scheduled Project HSE meetings.
- Ensure the injury Management process is being adhered to and monitor & guide any rehabilitation or return to work requirements.
- Arrange and participate in site safety training activities as well as coordinate and/or conduct additional project specific employee safety training as identified through the project training needs analysis. To develop, update and implement the Project EHS Activity Plan as a tool to manage site EHS activities in a systematic manner.
