Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Act as safety assessor for high-risk construction work activities.
  • Make recommendations to rectify or improve work conditions.
  • Endorse Permit-To-Work system on EHS compliance.
  • Assist in reviewing risk-impact assessments.
  • Monitor WSH performance and compliance.
  • Authorize suspension of work due to unsafe conditions.
  • Promote EHS awareness among employees.
  • Follow up on all EHS recommendations.
  • Assist in ISO and Bizsafe Certification renewal.
  • Undertake ad-hoc work assignments.

Job Description
  • Conduct daily inspection and act on non-compliances to EHS standards and conditions.
  • Training and monitoring of worker’s performance on safe work practices.
  • Maintain and monitoring of EHS records, documentation and checklists.
  • Monitor the conduct of daily toolbox meetings and risk-impact assessment briefings.
  • Act as safety assessors in assessing and inspecting of work areas for high risk construction work activities. Commencement of work under Permit-To-Work system and as per requirements from WSH (Construction) Regulations for safety assessors.
  • Make recommendations to trade supervisors / Permit-To-Work applicants to rectify or improve prior to commencement of work activities.
  • Endorse on Permit-To-Work system upon safety assessing and compliance on EHS requirements for safe work commencement.
  • Assist in reviewing and advising in the formulation of risk-impact assessment.
  • Monitoring of WSH performance and compliance to risk-impact assessments.
  • Authorize to suspend any work operation in the project due to unsafe conditions or unsafe act / behaviour’s including directing to work out improvement action plan and / or initiating disciplinary actions after conclusion with Project EHS Manager / Officers.
  • Ensure that all EHS matters pertaining to construction and work of engineering activities shall be complied with.
  • To promote and enforce EHS awareness among fellow employees and other site personnel.
  • To follow up with all recommendations, in the interest of EHS matters.
  • Assist in renewing of ISO and Bizsafe Certification.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc work as assigned.
Requirements
  • Possess a Diploma.
  • Possess a Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator certificate (SCTC or Advance Certificate in WSH) from an approved MOM training provider.
  • Knowledgeable in Singapore Workplace Safety and Health Legislations and Regulations
  • Knowledge and must have at least 1 to 2 years experience in handling site and administration work regards to EHS matters.
  • 2 to 3 years working experience in Construction.
