Job summary

A leading chemical engineering firm is seeking an EHS Coordinator in Singapore. The role involves ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, managing EHS systems, and supporting safety training and drills. Candidates should have a diploma in Engineering or Environmental Science and knowledge of ISO standards. Additional safety certifications are desirable. This position requires flexibility for activities outside standard hours.

Julian Grey’s client is a well-established chemical engineering MNC focused on offering sustainable and differentiated products in the chemical industry. The company is headquartered in Japan and established globally with 2 manufacturing plants in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the management of EHS administrative processes to ensure compliance with WSH regulations and applicable legal requirements
  • Maintain and support EHS management systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, including participation in internal and external audits and follow-up on corrective actions
  • Coordinate and liaise with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and relevant agencies on EHS-related matters
  • Prepare and manage documentation related to approvals, permits, license applications/renewals, and internal EHS records
  • Assist in overseeing contractor and subcontractor safety, including permit-to-work and site safety controls
  • Support the planning and conduct of safety briefings, EHS training sessions, and emergency response drills
  • Assist with departmental activities related to facility and maintenance operations
  • Perform any other duties related to EHS and operational support as assigned
Requirements
  • Possess a Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and management systems, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Certification such as WSH Coordinator or Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with Risk Assessment methodologies
  • Willingness to support activities outside standard office hours when required
