Job description

UWCSEA is seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to join our team as a Safeguarding Administrative Support [Temporary]. The ideal candidate will aid the Safeguarding Team to provide backend support to the team. This role is crucial in ensuring that the College's safeguarding processes run efficiently, thereby contributing directly to the safety and welfare of our students.

This is a temporary part-time contract role. The required hours are estimated to be between 12-16 hours per week, subject to the fluctuating needs of the Safeguarding team. The specific schedule can be mutually agreed upon to align with both the candidate's availability and the College's requirements.

The incumbent may be stationed at either the Dover campus or the East Campus to support the team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Safeguarding Lead with the administration and input of safeguarding data relating to new students.
  • Support with the maintenance of confidential student and staff records on the school's safeguarding monitoring system, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Support with the collation, proofreading & organisation of resources for DSLs, staff, parents etc.
  • Responsible for report generation and distribution.
  • Track and monitor the completion of safeguarding records, sending reminders as required.
  • Collate and organise Safeguarding documents, working closely with the Senior Safeguarding Lead.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of individual/family circumstances.
  • Logistical/organisational support for the Senior Safeguarding Lead.
  • Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity to the assigned job grade as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College.
Person Specifications
  • Minimum Diploma or any relevant discipline.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant administrative experience.
  • Experience in international school, counselling or healthcare settings is preferred.
  • Must be flexible, willing and able to adapt and change at short notice in response to school needs.
  • Proficient with technology including Google platforms, Gmails, Google Calendar and a working knowledge of Mac.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently.
  • Able to manage confidentiality and discretion in handling information.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, intrapersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Self-directed learner, who demonstrates initiative and can work with minimum supervision effectively.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding of children and young people.
