Job summary

Softvil Technologies seeks a Software Engineer – RPG to join our payments engineering team. You will design, develop and maintain RPG IV / ILE RPG applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform to support high-availability CMS and payments processing.

You will collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps and Infra, modernize RPG components into microservices, implement secure coding per PCI-DSS, and contribute to documentation and mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Proficiency in RPG IV / ILE RPG on IBM i (AS/400).
• Experience with Card Management Systems (CMS) and payment platforms.
• Knowledge of ISO 8583, RESTful APIs, and databases (DB2/SQL).
• Familiarity with microservices, Java/Spring Boot, and DevOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain RPG IV / ILE RPG on IBM i.
• Enhance CMS including transaction processing and lifecycle management.
• Develop microservices-based APIs using Java/Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams.
• Analyze performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure security.
• Participate in modernization, migrating RPG components to microservices.
• Maintain documentation and design specifications.
• Adhere to PCI-DSS secure coding practices.
