Job description

As a Retail Assistant at Furrest Pets, you will deliver excellent customer service, support daily store operations, and ensure a warm and welcoming environment for both pet owners and their furry friends.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and assist them in selecting suitable pet products.
• Follow up with appointments (through phone, email or Whatsapp) and manage them effectively.
• Perform cashiering duties, including managing Point-of-sale cash register operations and end-of-day counter closing.
• Provide accurate information and recommendations on pet food, accessories, and grooming products.
• Promote products by sharing product knowledge and upselling pet accessories, toys, and other items.
• Collaborate with the grooming team and recommend membership sign-ups and/or renewals.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and attractive presentation of the store, shelves, and display areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment.
• Support daily store opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in caring for small animals (if any is kept in-store).
• Ensure compliance with store hygiene standards and AVS (Animal & Veterinary Service) regulations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work culture.

Job Requirements

• GCE ‘N’/‘O’ Level or equivalent qualification.
• Able to converse in English and Mandarin.
• Minimum 1 year of retail or customer service experience, preferably in a pet-related industry.
• Passionate about animals and comfortable working around pets.
• Friendly, patient, and customer-oriented with good communication skills.
• Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of pet care or grooming products is an advantage.
• 6 days' work week, willing to work on weekends and public holidays.

Working Hours (Rotating shift per day)

• Morning shift: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
• Afternoon shift: 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm
