Some proven track record in:
- Good Understanding and knowledge about IP address
- Good Understanding and knowledge Mac address
- Good Understanding and knowledge Vlan, LAN & WAN
- Physical layer troubleshooting
- Good knowledge with Ping, trace commands
- Hardware break fix support
- Good Understanding on Routing protocols
- Knowledgeable on type of Patch Cords (SMF/MMF/Copper cable)
- OSI /TCP/IP Model
- ARP
- Knowledgeable on switches and ports (Console Port, Management Port, ilo, IDrac)
- Racking and stacking of network devices
- Perform Cable patching (end to end connectivity)
- Installing and troubleshooting enterprise equipment
- This position will support facilities management with a commitment and desire to satisfy our client by completing all work at the highest level, always striving for perfection. The candidate must be motivated and self-driven for success.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
- The patching cabling between network equipment and client’s network
- The installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet
- The installation, troubleshooting and de-installing IT equipment (Servers / Network / Storage / etc)
- Install/swap out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches and etc.)
- Complete all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels
- Act as interface between client’s associates and management
- Provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure
- Perform onsite call-through, data, voice, website and security testing
- Perform back-up testing to ensure all systems are connected to the client’s network as directed
- Support carrier testing of circuits
- Assist with facilities efforts such as vendor co-ordination and vendor supervision
- Power and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) restoral
- Emergency cooling restoration
- Fire suppression exercises, restoration, and post fire events
- Support inventory management activities
- Receiving inventory
- Tagging of assets
- Tracking spares (crash kits)
- Ordering inventory
- Updating inventory records
- Prepare and return damaged equipment
- Act as an interface, as needed, between associates at the applicable location and centralized project / operations. MAC management.
