A leading engineering firm in Singapore seeks a Resident Technical Officer to supervise technical and design issues at a project site. The role involves checking construction drawings, enforcing safety precautions, and maintaining site records. Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 5 years of local project experience, and familiarity with local codes. Knowledge of Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or Navisworks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES and completion of BCSS Course required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
• Experience in supervision for office, retail, and mixed development is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Job Manager with technical and design issues.
• Provide supervision as directed by the Resident Engineer.
• Check construction drawings and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Enforce safety precautions and resolve site issues.

Job Description

• Assist the Job Manager to attend to technical and design issues at site and report issues to Job Manager.
• Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the Resident Engineer and/or Consultant team.
• Check through construction drawings and highlight any discrepancies found between or within the same disciplines prior to the commencement of installation works.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Ensure adequate safety precautions are enforced on site.
• Resolve all site issues and ensure timely completion of the project.
• Attend site meetings, site inspections, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain site records.
• Estimated commencement of work in January 2026

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
• A registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES and completion of Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS) Course (also known as the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Management) is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
• Experience in supervision of Mechanical Services installation for office, retail and mixed development would be added advantage
• Familiar with local codes and regulations
• Ability to respond to technical questions
• Preferred to have experience with Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud or Navisworks
