Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy firm in Singapore is seeking an M&E Resident Technical Officer to provide supervision and ensure compliance with building regulations. The ideal candidate has a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience in M&E supervision. Knowledge of local regulations is essential. Rotating shifts may be required. Competitive salary offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in M&E supervision or related field.
  • Must be accredited by IES as an M&E Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with a valid certificate.
  • Experience in HDB, Buildings, Infrastructure, CAG, or DSTA projects will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision as directed by the Resident Engineer or Client teams.
  • Inspect materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Conduct testing of mechanical ventilation systems.
  • Identify M&E-related issues and implement solutions.
  • Attend daily site progress meetings.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the Resident Engineer, Consultant, or Client teams.
  • Inspect materials delivered to site to ensure compliance with approved specifications and materials.
  • Conduct testing and evaluation of mechanical ventilation systems in accordance with design criteria, including combined services testing during fire mode activation.
  • Proactively identify and resolve M&E-related issues by proposing effective solutions and implementing corrective actions to ensure project compliance.
  • Attend daily site progress meetings and participate in site walks with clients and contractors.
  • Review testing and commissioning plans; witness M&E testing on-site and at factories as required.
  • Perform factory acceptance tests and inspections of high-voltage electrical panels and variable frequency drive (VFD) panels prior to site delivery.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all M&E works, inspections, and correspondence, ensuring proper documentation and as-built records are updated.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in M&E supervision or related field.
  • Good knowledge of local Building Regulations.
  • Must be accredited by IES as an M&E Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with a valid certificate.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts or Sundays when required.
  • Experience in HDB, Buildings, Infrastructure, CAG, or DSTA projects will be an added advantage.
