Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore seeks a Resident Technical Officer to supervise structural works and ensure compliance with project specifications. Responsibilities include quality control, communication with Architects, and participation in site meetings. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience and a diploma in Civil Engineering. This role is critical for maintaining high standards in construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Registered with IES-ACES Joint accreditation Committee as Resident Technical Officer.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with precast RC piling and structural steel buildings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction of structural works per BCA approved drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and maintain quality control.
  • Issue instructions for rectifications and check layout during erection.
  • Maintain records of measurements and tests, inform Architect/Engineers.
  • Participate in site and technical meetings as required.

Job description
Job Description
  • Carry out full time supervision for construction of structural works in accordance to BCA approved structural drawings in compliance to Building and Control Act and regulations
  • Check that requirements of specifications in regards to materials and workmanship are complied with the project specifications by the Builders. Ensure high quality control for all civil and structural as well as architectural works to be carried . This includes sample tests for materials and workmanship etc
  • Watch for faulty workmanship and material incorporated in the works and to issue instructions for rectifications
  • Check line and level and layout of structure during erection and that intentions of contract drawings are adhered to
  • Check structural slab beam and column sizes and reinforcements placed and that intent of design details are followed
  • Keep a record of all measurements and tests and to bring plans into conformity with the work actually executed
  • Issue such further instructions and clarifications of details as and when required; and to inform Architect / Engineers for issuance of Architect’s Instruction or Architects\' clarification
  • Work under the direction of RE, PE and Architect for site organisation, allocation of duties and tasks and coordinate with Architect for M&E services and structural design that affects architectural and ID works.
  • Participate in Client/Consultant\'s site meeting and technical meeting if required by RE
  • Vet and signoff inspection forms and quality related issues including all dry-lays, trade demonstrations, method of statements, mock-ups, defects inspection and rectification follow-up to sign-off, M&E testing and commissioning, handover to client.
  • Check architectural and ID works and intent of design details are followed. To notify Architect of any design intent conflicts and quality variations, illegal works.
What you will need
  • Registered with IES-ACES Joint accreditation Committee ( JAC ) as Resident Technical Officer with a minimum diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years or more relevant experience
  • Experience in precast RC piling works and structural steel buildings are prefere
