RESIDENT TECHNICAL OFFICER / RESIDENT ENGINEER

Key responsibilities
- Site Supervision: Oversee and monitor daily construction activities to ensure the project stays on track, within budget, and adheres to the schedule.
 
- Quality Control: Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards. This includes verifying compliance with shop drawings and technical submittals.
 
- Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with contract documents, building codes, safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
 
- Liaison: Act as a liaison between the client, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to address issues and ensure smooth communication.
 
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, such as site reports, progress photographs, and site instructions.
 
- Problem-solving: Address discrepancies, non-conformances, and unexpected issues that arise on the construction site.
 
- Safety: Enforce safety standards and procedures to ensure the well‑being of workers on‑site.
 
Required qualifications and skills
- Education: A minimum of a relevant diploma or degree is often required, depending on the project.
 
- Certification: May require specific RTO certification from a professional body like the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) or the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES).
 
- Experience: Relevant experience in site supervision and construction is typically necessary.
