Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy firm in Singapore is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer to lead and supervise Mechanical and Electrical projects. The ideal candidate must have at least 10 years of experience, a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and be registered as a Resident Engineer. This role involves managing site operations, ensuring safety compliance, and resolving technical issues to guarantee timely project completion.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Resident Engineer/Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
  • Registered Resident Engineer/Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES.
  • Experience in supervision of M&E installations for healthcare projects.

Job Description
  • Lead the M&E Resident Technical Officers to monitor, supervise and inspect works as directed by MOHH and Consultant Team including planning roster duties based on Contractor’s work schedules and oversee leave arrangements. The Senior Resident Engineer (SRE) and Resident Engineer (RE) are also expected to step in and over the duties of the M&E RTOs when necessary to ensure the continuity of site supervision.
  • Roster planning to include regular site checks on top of the inspection requests. To have the knowledge and experience to lead and guide the M&E Resident Technical Officers and report any observations found on site that are not acceptable and report to Consultant Team. Work together with the Consultant Team for resolution and to keep proper records of such observations for proper closure.
  • Assist Job Manager to attend to technical and design issues at site and report issues to Job Manager
  • Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the Senior Resident Engineer and/or Consultant team.
  • Check through construction drawings and highlight any discrepancies found between or within the same disciplines prior to the commencement of installation works.
  • Reviewed approved shopdrawings and conducting site inspections and monitoring to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
  • Ensure safety precautions are enforced on site.
  • Resolve all site issues and ensure timely completion of the project.
  • Check to ensure that all authorities compliance are met for the installations and tested fully.
  • Attend site meetings, site inspections, FAT, ICT, testing and commissioning.
  • Maintain proper site records and inspection records that it is duly sign-off.
  • Organise filing & site records in the event of site audit and for documentation purposes.
  • To provide accurate and timely assessment of contractors' monthly claims submission.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering recognized by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore
  • A registered Resident Engineer/Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES is required.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Resident Engineer/Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
  • Experience in supervision of Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services installation for local Hospital/ Healthcare/ Institution/ Commercial Developments such as Hotel, Mixed Development, etc. would be added advantage
  • Possess a complete understanding of local codes and regulations, quality control procedures, construction administration, and submission of progress reports.
  • Able to resolve site and technical issues, prepare and document detailed site progress reports and respond to technical questions
  • Good supervisory and leadership skills with, with experience in leading a team of Resident Technical Officers.
  • A good team player with effective communication skills and able to interact with people at all levels.
