Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Junior Resident Engineer. The role involves supervising building projects while ensuring safety and compliance with construction regulations. Candidates must have a recognized degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. The position lasts approximately 31 months, and applicants should be ready to start work within a short notice or by October 2025.

Job Description

• To ensure that the contractor co-ordinates the works of various contractors.
• To agree to detailed programmes of work-time chart and representation of site plans.
• To check that all necessary drawings and instruction have been given to contractors and authorization obtained, in accordance with the agreed programme
• To check that materials are ordered in good time and permits obtained.
• To check that all construction works are carried out in a safe manner, and that the site is kept secure.
• To watch for faulty workmanship and materials incorporated in the works and to issue instructions for rectification.
• To check and line and level of layout of structure during erection and that intentions of "contract" drawings are adhered to.
• To check structural slab, beam and column sizes and reinforcements placed and that intent of designs are followed.

Requirements

• Recognised Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with valid RE Accreditation Certificate from IES.
• Must have at least 5 yrs of post graduate experience respectively in supervising building projects. Applicants with both design and supervision experience as R.E. will be favourably considered.
• Fully conversant with Building Contract Act and Regulations. Able to administer contracts professionally, maintain site records and contract documents systematically, to meet reporting requirements under Building Control Act.
• Extensive experience in the supervision of bored pile systems, precast concrete, and structural steel construction.
• Experience with canal/ drainage construction will be favourably considered.
• Contract duration: 31 months (estimate)
