Job summary

Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for a Research Scientist to join the SMU Urban Institute. You will build a Mobility Knowledge Graph by consolidating Singapore mobility data into a structured knowledge base and model shocks to predict travel demand under disruptions.

The role involves training AI-driven transportation models and contributing to published papers and grant proposals, with collaboration across PI/Co-PIs and various research projects.

Qualifications

• PhD in Urban Informatics or Urban Analytics.
• Deep knowledge of urban mobility systems and knowledge-graph methods.
• Strong Python programming and data analysis skills.
• Good knowledge of machine learning applications in urban transportation systems.
• Familiar with large-scale transportation datasets and spatial-temporal data.

Responsibilities

• Build the Mobility Knowledge Graph by structuring Singapore mobility data.
• Model shocks and demand on top of the graph to analyze travel demand under various scenarios.
• Train AI-based transportation models and contribute to future research papers and grant proposals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
