Job summary

A leading research institute in Singapore is seeking a candidate to design and simulate nonlinear metadevices. The successful candidate should have a PhD and at least 5 years of relevant experience in applied physics or related fields. Responsibilities include fabrication and characterization to enhance quantum light source efficiency. Candidates with skills in van der Waals structures and nonlinear optics will be preferred.

Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and simulation, fabrication and characterization of nonlinear metadevices to enhance the efficiency of quantum light sources.

The description provides the key responsibilities for this role and should be interpreted as the expectation for design, simulation, fabrication and characterization of nonlinear metadevices to improve quantum light source efficiency.

Job Requirements
  • PhD in applied physics, optics and photonics, electrical engineering or materials science with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experiences in nonlinear metasurfaces are needed (design and simulation, nanofabrication and characterization).
  • Skills in van der Waals structures fabrication (exfoliation, transfer, twist and stacking) are advantages;
  • Skills in nonlinear optics measurement (SHG and THG) and optical setup are advantages;
  • Skills in optoelectronic photodetector development and measurement are advantages;
  • Good team player, self-motivated, ability to carry out independent research, and persistence in solving technology challenges;
  • Proven track record of high-quality scientific publications.
