A leading research institution in Singapore is seeking a Research Officer to support studies on immune systems affecting skin health and disease. Candidates will manage lab safety, conduct SOPs, and handle blood/tissue samples, particularly the isolation of immune cells. A degree in relevant fields and skills in molecular biology and flow cytometry are preferred. This role encourages motivation and independent work.
A Research Officer position is available in the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN) to support the research work of Dr Anand Andiappan's Lab that focuses on studying the role of immune system in Skin health and disease. The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding immune pathophysiology of disease. Additional work involves cellular and stimulation assays with flow cytometry and FACS analysis along with imaging by confocal microscopy, and associated data analysis with statistical tested.
Duties will include managing safety in the lab, creating SOPs and lab risk assessments, maintaining lab inventories, perform other lab administrative duties and operations such as ordering and tracking lab budget. Candidates are expected to be highly motivated to work in research and able to perform tasks independently. Experience with human and mouse blood/tissue sample handling and processing (e.g. isolation of specific immune cell population) and knowledge of immune cell biology is encouraged.
Experience with flow cytometry analysis for different immune cell population and functional immune assays will be an advantage.
