Job summary

A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential (IHDP) in Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant role. You will plan and coordinate study protocols, support ethics submissions, and manage data collection according to the research plan.

You will recruit and coordinate participants, ensure smooth day-to-day operations, monitor progress, and prepare regular reports for investigators and funding bodies. Fresh graduates are welcome; weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in psychology, neuroscience, child development, biology or related fields.
• 1 year preferred, fresh graduates welcome.
• Team oriented, proactive, independent, good communication, able to multi-task.
• English reading/writing and Mother Tongue.
• Prior experience working with children or adolescents desirable.
• May require to work on Saturday, on a need-to-basis.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates initiation of research study protocol and the establishment of operating policies and procedures.
• Supports research ethics board applications.
• Plans, implements, and maintains data collection in accordance to research protocol.
• Recruits, instructs, and coordinates research subjects and/or volunteers.
• Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities.
• Monitors the progress of research activities; develops and maintains records of research activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties, as assigned.

The A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential (A*STAR IHDP) focuses on research to improve and impact the health and well-being of Singaporeans across the life course. IHDP conducts research on developmental cohorts as well as related studies in metabolic health, mental health, environmental nutrition, metabolism, allergy and neurocognition and environmental influences on human development.
