Job Description

• Development and validation of NEMO regional ocean circulation and biogeochemical modelling for the South-east Asia region.

Qualification & Field of Study

• PhD in Physical Oceanography, Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or other related discipline.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant research experience.
• Strong knowledge of physical oceanography, ocean climate studies, regional ocean circulation and modelling.
• Experience in modelling of biogeochemical cycles, trophic interactions including human activities.
• Experience in environmental impact assessment of toxic pollutants in coastal ocean including eutrophication, suspended and bottom sediments.
• Understanding of radionuclide spill behaviour in aquatic systems.
• Experience with NEMO and radionuclide dispersion modelling is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in sediment transport modelling and marine food-web studies would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in Linux/UNIX environments and shell scripting.
• Experience working with HPC systems and supercomputing environments.
• Good programming skills in languages such as Fortran and Python.
• Experience in processing and analysing large-scale datasets in NetCDF format using tools such as Python, MATLAB, CDO, NCO, and Ferret/PyFerret.
• Experience in handling and analysing satellite, in-situ, and reanalysis datasets would be an advantage.
