The National University of Singapore invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow in the Signature Research Programme in Neuroscience and Behavioural Disorders. The successful candidate will lead a project on synaptic function mechanisms related to schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, and autism, employing CRISPR genome editing, advanced imaging, proteomics, and computational analysis.
We seek highly qualified individuals with a PhD and/or MD/PhD in neuroscience or related fields,
The Signature Research Programme in Neuroscience and Behavioural Disorders (“NBD”) is focused on understanding the structure and function of the nervous system, and the neural mechanisms underlying human neurological, psychiatric and ophthalmological disorders.
A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jun Nishiyama (https://www.duke-nus.edu.sg/directory/detail/nishiyama-jun). The successful candidate will lead a project to investigate molecular mechanisms of synaptic function and dysfunction in neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, and autism. The lab combines cutting-edge molecular and optical approaches, including in vivo CRISPR genome editing, 2-photon FLIM imaging, super-resolution imaging, proteomics, and computational analysis, and mouse genetics. We are looking for highly qualified and motivated individuals with a PhD and/or M.D. degree in neuroscience or closely related fields. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who have the desire to learn and develop new techniques in different fields.
The selected candidate will perform a variety of research activities which include planning, organizing and conducting research studies within the overall scope of a research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designate, including but not limited to the following: -
