Job Description

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading multidisciplinary institute devoted to developing new paradigms for understanding biological functions in health and diseases from the perspective of cell, tissue and organ mechanics/dynamics and mechano-signal transduction. The institute operates on a fully integrated open-lab philosophy, with an extensive infrastructure supported by core facilities dedicated to technology such as state-of-the-art light microscopy, nano- and micro- fabrication, and computing.

We seek to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the research group of Prof. Hanry Yu as a Research Fellow at the Mechanobiology Institute, National University of Singapore. His her responsibilities will include:

  • Developing of a human liver-heart model for food safety assessment of cultivated cells as alternative protein
  • Assisting other research projects on mechanobiology, liver tissue engineering, biomaterials and imaging
  • Overseeing laboratory safety, procurement, budget management, and proposal/report writing for research project
Qualifications
  • PhD and above in life science or biomedical engineering from highly reputable universities or academic institutes
  • Experienced in molecular biology experimental techniques and microscopy imaging skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
  • Good team player demonstrated in research team
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, think and work across disciplinary boundaries
