Job Description

We are hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher to lead a project focused on Inclusive Human‑AI Collaboration for Marginalized Communities. The project aims to design, develop, and evaluate AI‑driven systems that foster social inclusion of underserved populations including, but not limited to, individuals with disabilities, older adults, children, and migrants. Within this overarching theme, we offer intellectual flexibility in defining specific target populations and research inquiries based on the researcher’s expertise and interests.

The successful candidate will drive the entire research trajectory, from qualitative grounding (e.g., co‑designing with community stakeholders and eliciting design requirements) to the technical translation of these insights into inclusive AI prototypes. The role emphasizes evaluating the real‑world impact of these systems through iterative deployment and field evaluation within diverse social contexts. The researcher is expected to disseminate findings through high‑impact publications in top‑tier HCI venues.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in HCI, Design, Information Science, Computer Science (Human‑centered), or a closely related field.
• A strong track record of first‑author publications in top‑tier HCI venues (e.g., CHI, CSCW, ASSETS or DIS).
• Proficiency in qualitative and/or mixed‑methods research, including experience in co‑design ethnographic studies, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with specific marginalized groups (e.g., individuals with disabilities, older adults, or migrants).
• Experience in system prototyping, with the ability to translate conceptual design requirements into functional artifacts.
