Job summary

NTU Singapore's Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI) seeks a researcher to lead CO2 sorbent development and pilot-scale reactor work. You will coordinate multi-party collaboration, design and run experiments, analyze data, and contribute to publications while training junior staff.

The role requires a PhD in a related field, strong writing ability, and a track record in peer-reviewed research. The position is based at NTU Singapore with access to state-of-the-art facilities.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, or a relevant field.
  • Experience in developing CO2 sorbents, especially calcium-based CO2 sorbents for circulating fluidized beds.
  • Knowledge of treatment and re-utilisation of incineration ashes is highly desirable.
  • Strong writing and communication skills; publication record is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project execution and communication among collaborating parties.
  • Design experiments with PI and Co-I, conduct experiments, troubleshoot and analyze data.
  • Upgrade and operate a pilot-scale circulating fluidized bed system.
  • Manage day-to-day operation of the reactor apparatus and procure consumables.
  • Write and publish research papers and produce progress/final reports.
  • Communicate findings to collaborators, funding agencies and the scientific community.
  • Provide training to research staff on relevant skills for the project.
