The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant/Research Fellow to lead the qualitative research stream within the CA-ACM project on built environment and active living. You will design studies, conduct fieldwork, and synthesize findings across qualitative, quantitative and geospatial components.

Working with scholars across architecture, urban studies, data science and public health, you will contribute to publications, policy briefs and stakeholder reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning/Studies, Human Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Environmental or Behavioural Psychology, Social Policy, Community Development, or related disciplines.
• Strong domain knowledge in environmental behaviour, built environment and health, urban sociology, community asset evaluation, urban analytics, active living, everyday behaviour, or community life.
• Extensive qualitative research experience with independent planning, execution, analysis and communication of findings involving human participants.
• Ability to integrate qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial findings across research workstreams.
• Experience in interdisciplinary research teams, stakeholder engagement, and familiarity with Singapore’s built environment or public sector context is advantageous.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills for academic, policy, and practitioner audiences.
• Preference for experience with NVivo or similar qualitative data analysis software.

Responsabilités

• Lead the full qualitative research process from design to interpretation.
• Develop and refine the framework for evaluating community assets and attractiveness to different population groups.
• Lead qualitative studies and contribute to survey design and interpretation of archetypes and activity chains from big-data modelling.
• Collaborate with geospatial analysis, urban analytics, and data science researchers to align research questions and synthesize findings.
• Publish research in academic journals, present at conferences, and contribute to reports for policy and practitioner audiences.
• Coordinate qualitative research activities, support project reporting and stakeholder engagement, and mentor team members where appropriate.
