The Decarbonisation Programme “Singapore Max-Planck Alliance for the Sustainable Conversion of Biomass” is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Analytical Chemistry for characterisation of biomass and its derived products. The successful candidate will focus on the characterization of biomass raw materials and its reaction products, contributing to the catalytic conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into sustainable aviation fuels.
Develop and implement an analytical pipeline for controlling biomass feedstock quality.
Design and integrate online, in-line, and offline analytical methods for monitoring biomass conversion processes into automated setups.
Establish standardized reporting procedures for analytical results.
Assist in the creation of structured data reporting systems to enhance data accessibility and usability.
Regular maintenance and validation of analytical devices
Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers
Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.
Doctoral degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Proficiency in 2D Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
Extensive experience with Mass Spectrometry techniques.
Hands-on expertise in Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS).
Experience in integrating online and inline analytical techniques
Proven ability in reaction kinetic analysis
Expertise in the analysis and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts is beneficial
Capable of conducting independent research while effectively collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
