Job summary

NTU in Singapore seeks a Research Engineer to design, implement, and integrate Visual-Language Models into autonomous mobile robots. You will enable semantic reasoning, perception-language grounding, and decision-making within navigation and control pipelines.

You will build simulations, run experimental evaluations, and support rapid prototyping, translating simulation results toward real-world deployment while bridging multimodal AI, robotics, and autonomous navigation research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and ROS/ROS2; Linux-based development environments.
• Experience with robotic simulation platforms and 3D modelling tools.
• Hands-on autonomous robotics project experience; exposure to DL or RL is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, collaborative, and independent work style.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate Visual-Language Models into simulation and robotic platforms.
• Interface VLM modules with navigation, mapping, and control systems.
• Build and maintain simulation environments and evaluation frameworks.
• Conduct GPU-enabled training, inference, and simulation studies.
• Support rapid prototyping from concept to demonstrable robotic systems.
• Collaborate with research staff and students across projects.
• Contribute to publications, disclosures, patents, and demos.
• Promote reproducible engineering practices.
