As a research institute within the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Institute of Microelectronics (IME) bridges the gap between academia and industry. Our mission is to accelerate innovation in advanced packaging, piezoMEMS, power electronics, RF/mmwave GaN, photonics & sensors, and to develop talent and inspire in Singapore. Additionally, IME coordinates semiconductor R&D across Singapore ecosystem.

We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Research Engineer to join our Research Management Office. This role is pivotal in managing intellectual property (IP) and publication portfolio, supporting IME’s commitment to scientific and innovation excellence and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
IP & Publication Management
  • Coordinate with research teams to collect, track, and facilitate IP filings and publication plans from inception to completion.
  • Ensure all submissions comply with IME and A*STAR policies.
  • Maintain and update the IP and publication database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate actively with researchers and management to ensure timely and accurate clearance of submissions.
  • Organize and document IP review meetings minutes, follow up on action items, and escalate potential issues proactively.
Benchmarking & Analysis
  • Compare performance metrics against competitors and identify strengths, weaknesses, and gaps.
  • Develop clear, insightful reports and use visualization to effectively communicate on IP and publication activities.
Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend enhancements to processes and systems to strengthen IP protection and publication processes.
  • Support risk management initiatives related to IP and scientific excellence.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in engineering or science.
  • Preference for candidates with at least 2 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry or research organizations.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to multiple tasks efficiently.
