Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated evidence of ML and optimization models for air traffic problems.
  • Two years of working experience in ML and data science.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Independent and team player.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement machine learning models for air traffic prediction, flow management, and conflict detection.
  • Apply deep learning, reinforcement learning, and other advanced AI techniques to improve decision-making in ATM systems.
  • Work with real-time and historical air traffic data (e.g., ADS-B) to build predictive models for air traffic demand and capacity.
  • Collaborate with a team of researchers and engineers to integrate ML models into ATM decision support systems.
  • Analyze the performance of ML models and optimize their scalability for real-world airspace management applications.
  • Participate in project meetings, prepare research reports, and contribute to publications in top-tier academic conferences and journals.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and technical documentation.

Job description

Under the Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI) (http://atmri.ntu.edu.sg/), Nanyang Technological University, you will be part of a research team to study the use of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics in Air Traffic Management Systems. The selected candidate will work on developing innovative machine learning models to address key challenges in the future airspace system, including traffic prediction, optimization, and safety enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement machine learning models for air traffic prediction, flow management, and conflict detection.
  • Apply deep learning, reinforcement learning, and other advanced AI techniques to improve decision-making in ATM systems.
  • Work with real-time and historical air traffic data (e.g., ADS-B) to build predictive models for air traffic demand and capacity.

Job Requirements
