Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or instrumentation or related areas.
• 1–2 years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in optics or electronic co-design is a plus.
• Proficient with CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks and COMSOL.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate mechanical parts for the ion-trap quantum processor.
• Ensure mechanical design remains stable under thermal changes and stresses.
• Apply thermal management and mechanical stability concepts to hardware.
• Understand machine shop capabilities and manufacturing processes.
