Research Associate (Law and Governance, Biosecurity and Global Health)

Job Description

The Asia Centre for Health Security (ACHS) at the National University of Singapore Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health is seeking a Research Associate to support the Law and Governance Program. The Asia Centre for Health Security is a recently established academic think tank that seeks to promote and strengthen health security in Asia. The RA would support work on law and governance aspects of biosecurity, public and global health, with a focus on Asia.

The candidate will be expected to carry out research, write reports and publications, and support the ongoing work of the program, including events. The RA will be expected to work independently under the supervision of A/Prof Ayelet Berman and in interaction with other Centre members.

Requirements

Applicants are expected to have an undergraduate degree in law and a master’s degree in biosecurity, public health, global health or other related fields. An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge/experience in the fields of law and biosecurity/public health/global health.
  • Outstanding research skills.
  • Outstanding English written and verbal communication skills as the researcher will work closely with English-speaking stakeholders from local, regional, and international backgrounds.
  • Independent, reliable, well-organized, meticulous to detail, focused.
  • A keen interest in advancing health security in Asia.
