Job summary

The Continental-NTU Corporate Lab, a collaboration between NTU and Continental in Singapore, is seeking a Research Fellow or Senior Researcher to advance chiplet-based IC system security and heterogeneous integration. You will join a focused team to demonstrate secure intelligent computing platforms that outperform traditional compute platforms.

Ideal candidates hold an MSc in related fields and have hands-on experience with FPGA, HDL, and security hardware implementations.

Qualifications

• MSc or MSc-equivalent in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with HW/SW co-design, FPGA development and hardware prototyping required.
• Proficiency in HDL (Verilog/VHDL) and digital design principles expected.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with security experts and cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate innovations.
• Prototype and evaluate architectural improvements, including security mechanisms and cryptographic IP on FPGA platforms.
• Integrate security Engine/TEE and post-quantum hardware blocks, and contribute to RoT/Caliptra integrations.
• Contribute to long-term research strategy, white papers and vision documents.

The Continental-NTU Corp Lab is a strategic research collaboration between NTU and Continental, focusing on developing technically advanced solutions in the areas such as sustainable materials engineering, artificial intelligence, advanced communications and cybersecurity capabilities for future urban mobility applications. We aim to develop innovative solutions that can be commercialized into products and services for Continental through close collaboration with its business units.

In this job opening, we are seeking a highly motivated and visionary researcher to join our team focused on heterogeneous integration and security of chiplet-based IC systems. This role involves research and development in chiplet-based architectures, aiming to demonstrate secure intelligent computing platforms outperforms traditional compute platforms. We invite applicants to join us as a Research Fellow or Senior Researcher (full-time). You will be part of the Continental-NTU Corporate Lab research team.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with security experts, cryptographic engineers, and cross-functional and interdisciplinary / inter-organizational teams to develop, integrate and evaluate innovations Integrate, prototype and evaluate new architectural improvements, in particular new security mechanisms and cryptographic IP implementations on hardware FPGA platforms Integrating security Engine/TEE and post-quantum hardware building blocks and security components Responsible for integrating into RoT/Caliptra hardware and software blocks as prototype Contribute to long-term research strategy, white papers, and vision documents.

Job Requirements

MSc in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Proven experience with HW/SW Co-Design, FPGA development and hardware prototyping Proficiency in hardware description languages (HDLs) such as Verilog or VHDL Strong understanding of digital design principles and embedded systems Proficiency in low-level programming languages such as C, Rust and RISC-V Knowledge and/or experience in using some of tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys, etc. Familiarity with modular FPGA hardware implementations, tools and testing methodologies Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Demonstrated ability to work across interdisciplinary and diverse teams, ideally with experience in project planning and management Excellent collaborative and communication skills in English for research purposes Good communication and presentation skills, fluency in multiple languages is a plus
