NTU HABITS invites applications for a Research Associate to support end-to-end management of health behaviour research projects at the Asian Centre for Health Behavioural Insights & Interventions. You will help plan, coordinate, and execute studies in collaboration with pillar leads and external partners.

The role involves grant proposal development, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of findings. A Master’s degree and strong coordination skills are required.

  • Familiarity with adolescents/digital wellbeing/health in schools or community settings is a plus.

Job description

Established as a partnership between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National Healthcare Group (NHG), the Asian Centre for Health Behavioural Insights & Interventions (HABITS) aims to improve population health through multidisciplinary and translational research to support interventions, policy and programmes; strengthen national capabilities through the integration of translational research into health intervention processes; and increase Singapore's regional and international profile as a centre of excellence for health behavioural sciences.

We are looking for a Research Associate to work closely with the Centre's Pillar Leads and Directors to support the management of research projects and the development of competitive research grant applications. The Research Associate will contribute to the end-to-end execution of research projects, from study planning and implementation through to data analysis and dissemination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning, coordination, and day-to-day management of research projects to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
  • Assist with the preparation and development of competitive research grant applications, including literature reviews, proposal writing, budgeting, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate end-to-end research activities, including participant recruitment, scheduling, data collection, and study implementation across multiple projects.
  • Prepare and manage ethics applications, regulatory submissions, and study documentation, ensuring compliance with institutional, ethical, and data governance requirements.
  • Manage research databases, maintain accurate study records, and oversee the secure storage and handling of research data in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis using appropriate research methods and statistical software.
  • Prepare research reports, manuscripts, conference abstracts, presentations, and other scholarly outputs for dissemination.
  • Coordinate project logistics, including procurement, budgeting, financial tracking, research assets, and vendor management where required.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including collaborators, funding agencies, schools, community partners, and government agencies, to facilitate project implementation.
  • Undertake other relevant research, administrative, and operational duties as assigned by the Centre's Pillar Leads and Directors.
Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Communication Studies, Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies, including experimental and survey design, focus group discussions, and associated data collection and analysis.
  • Prior experience in coordinating or managing academic or applied research projects.
  • Familiarity with research involving adolescents, digital wellbeing, health, schools, or community-based interventions would be an advantage.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with schools, government agencies, healthcare organisations, community partners, and other collaborators.
